About this Gig
The MFA application process can be chaotic and overwhelming. I'd love to help guide you through it and offer feedback so that you can apply with your strongest possible portfolio. I offer in-depth feedback (both line edits and overall/structural feedback) on your fiction or nonfiction creative writing sample. I have completed a fully funded MFA program at Ohio State and am currently earning my PhD in Creative Writing and Lit at USC.

What are my qualifications?
I attended a fully-funded MFA at the Ohio State University and am currently earning my PhD in Creative Writing and Literature at USC. I was offered admission at 7 of the 10 schools to which I applied for a PhD in creative writing. I know how stressful the application season gets and am here to help!
Where have I published?
Black Warrior Review, Catapult, december mag, Electric Literature, The Florida Review, The Greensboro Review, Indiana Review, Ninth Letter, The Rumpus, Reductress and SLICE. I am the winner of the 2020 Iowa Review Award in Nonfiction (selected by Leslie Jamison) and the 2021 Witness Literary Award
What will your feedback look like?
- line edits in a Word or Google doc (marginal comments, track changes general grammatical error correction) - a feedback letter wherein I detail the strengths of your piece and my suggestions for next steps in revision
What have I taught?
I’ve taught the following workshop courses at the university level: Intro to Creative Writing (all genres), Intro to Creative Nonfiction, and Intro to Fiction. I’ve also run independent workshops on satire and humorous writing.
