Yes. I've edited several especially long books (and trilogies) that were well over 100,000 words, and it is typical to find dangling story threads and inconsistencies in books of this length, so it is helpful to have an editor with a solid work ethic who pays attention to the most minute details.

I always do my best work on a project the first time through. If requested on the premium package, for a flat rate of $50 I will take a look at revisions the author makes throughout the manuscript based on the comments I left in the margin. For one or two changes, no charge.

Heavy line editing includes structural and word choice changes to sentences (and sometimes paragraphs) to tighten the language WITHOUT CHANGING YOUR VOICE or meaning, for improved clarity, flow and impact. My work includes extensive line-editing that improves language usage and removes filler words.

I have a separate gig for editing children's books. Since the work is so specialized the rates are higher. Poetry is so individualized and word/punctuation specific that I don't want to take on the task of identifying what should be edited. Cookbook 'scripts contain a high degree of inconsistency.

Proofreading is the FINAL step in the editing process. With deeper edits, issues are ALWAYS uncovered that go beyond the scope of editing and must be addressed by the author. Therefore, changes will be made to the manuscript, so a final proof at the point I return the editing would be premature.

I don't rewrite your manuscript, but I do apply line editing to sentences and paragraphs. In addition, if it seems something could be strengthened with a different approach, for example the beginning of a chapter, I often offer a sample rewrite of that part in a comment in the margin.
