I will be your developmental editor

Hi, I'm Cailey. I've been helping authors polish their manuscripts since the pandemic turned all of our lives upside down. I have a Bachelor of Arts from RMIT University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Professional Writing and Editing from Deakin University. In the six years I've been editing novels I have come to specialise in all things speculative fiction. Sprawling fantasy epics, Lit-RPG dungeon crawls, pro-human space operas, historical isekai, and dark romantasy.

I begin all my developmental edits with a quick discussion, over email or a voice-chat, so I can get a sense of your vision for the story. Afterwards I will complete two passes of your manuscript, providing annotations within the text itself and a detailed editorial report. The report will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript focused on plot, character, worldbuilding, pacing, reading flow, and consistency.
