I’m Cody Benjamin, a product designer based in California, USA. I studied Product Design at ArtCenter College of Design and specialize in industrial product design, 3D CAD modeling, shoe tech packs, vector line drawing and patent drawings. Can your tech packs be used for different embroidery styles like 3D Puff?
Yes. I specify exactly where 3D Puff, flat embroidery or woven patches should be placed. I also include the technical "offset" measurements to ensure the design doesn't get cut off by the crown seams or eyelets.
Do you provide specifications for the internal parts like taping and buckram?
Absolutely. A professional hat is built from the inside out. I include specs for internal seam taping, sweatband materials and the type of buckram (structured or unstructured) needed to give your cap the perfect shape and "hand feel.
Are these files ready to send directly to a factory in China or Vietnam?
Yes. I use universal technical callouts and metric measurements (mm/cm) that global manufacturers prefer. This eliminates language barriers and ensures your factory understands the Bill of Materials (BOM) without needing a follow up call.
Can you help if I don’t know which fabric (Cotton Twill vs. Corduroy) to use?
Yes. Based on your brand’s "vibe" (Streetwear, Outdoor or Luxury), I will suggest the appropriate fabric weight (GSM) and texture. I’ll make sure the material choice matches the structural design of the cap for the best durability.
What happens if my manufacturer asks for a technical adjustment?
I consider myself your production partner. If your factory suggests a change based on their specific molding or machinery, I will update the tech pack to ensure the final product remains high quality and consistent with your original vision.
