What is Lottie animation and why should I use it?
Lottie is a lightweight animation format based on JSON files. Compared to GIF or video, Lottie animations are vector-based, so they scale perfectly on any screen, load fast, and take up minimal space. They work smoothly on Web, iOS, Android.
Do you also design the illustration, or do I need to provide it?
I'm a motion designer, not an illustrator. For best results, please provide a vector illustration (SVG, AI, EPS, or Figma/XD file) that I can animate. If you only have a hand-drawn sketch or a rough idea, message me first — I can suggest solutions or recommend an illustrator to prepare the assets.
What design files do you work with?
I work with any vector format: SVG, AI, EPS, PDF, Figma, or Adobe XD. Vector files ensure clean animation and smallest possible Lottie JSON size. If you have PNG or JPG only, I may need to trace or recreate the graphics as vectors first.
Are there any Lottie limitations I should know about?
Yes. Lottie supports vector shapes, transforms, and masks, but does not support most After Effects effects (glow, blur, particles), 3D layers, or embedded videos. If your project has complex effects, message me first and I'll suggest how to adapt it for Lottie.
How do I preview and test the Lottie animation?
Every animation is tested on LottieFiles preview before delivery. You'll receive the JSON file plus a GIF or MP4 preview so you can see it instantly. To test in your own project, you can drag the JSON to LottieFiles.com or use their online player.
