I will write sops, work instructions, and pm checklists for industrial maintenance
About this Gig
Procedures your crew will actually follow, written by a Red Seal Millwright.
I spent eight years on plant floors across Manitoba: hydro, food processing, energy, and pulp and paper. I write SOPs and maintenance documents the way the person doing the job needs to read them: clear steps, stated limits, safety up front.
What I write:
- SOPs and work instructions
- PM checklists and record sheets
- One-page quick references for use at the machine
- Alignment, lubrication, and equipment procedures
Why it pays off: a clear procedure means less rework, faster on-boarding, and the same result every time, whoever does the job.
How it works:
- Tell me the equipment and send the manual or an existing procedure.
- I draft it, and your team reviews it against your sites safety rules.
- We revise, and you get a finished document.
See my sample SOP and PM checklist in the gallery. Message me before ordering if you're not sure which package fits.

FAQ
What do I need to send you to start?
The equipment name and model, the OEM manual or any existing procedure, and your site’s safety rules (lockout, PPE). Photos and job notes help. The more detail you send, the more accurate the document.
What’s the difference between an SOP and a work instruction?
An SOP covers the whole task: purpose, safety, tools, numbered steps, and acceptance criteria. A work instruction is a shorter version for crews who already know the equipment. Not sure? Message me.
What is a record sheet?
A form technicians fill in on site, with as-found and as-left readings such as alignment, temperatures, and shim changes. It gives the next person something to compare against.
What counts as a step, and what counts as a revision?
A step is one action in the procedure. A revision is one round of changes to the delivered document. If you need more rounds, you can add extra revisions to your order.
What if my procedure needs more steps than the package allows?
Choose the next package up, or message me before ordering and I’ll quote it. Long or complex procedures are scoped one at a time.
What equipment can you write for?
Rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, and couplings, plus general mechanical PMs. For anything else, message me first and I’ll tell you honestly if it’s a fit.
Does your procedure guarantee compliance with regulations or codes?
No. I write from the manuals and rules you send. A qualified person at your site must review the final document against your safety program before it’s used. I don’t replace your safety or engineering sign-off.
Will you keep my documents confidential?
Yes. I treat everything you send as confidential and I’m happy to sign an NDA before we start.
What format will I receive?
Word and PDF. If you send your own template or style guide, I’ll match it.
Do you work on site?
No. I work remotely from Manitoba, so send manuals, photos, and notes by message.
