I specialize in reverse engineering STL and 3D scan data into accurate, editable CAD models ready for design changes, 3D printing, CNC machining, or manufacturing.
I will take your scan, STL, OBJ or mesh file, clean it up, and convert it into a solid STEP CAD model you can open and modify in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor
My workflow includes 3D scan cleanup (removing noise, fixing holes, smoothing surfaces, repairing nonmanifold areas), rebuilding proper geometry, and matching key dimensions so your part is close to the original. Depending on your package, I can create simple prismatic parts or more complex organic or mechanical shapes and deliver STL to STEP or other neutral CAD formats.
I work on mechanical components, brackets, enclosures, replacement parts, and legacy components where original CAD is missing. You receive a clean, watertight, editable CAD model plus, if needed, a refined STL ready for accurate 3D printing.

What do I need to send you to start?
Please send your STL, OBJ, or 3D scan file, along with clear photos of the real part (if available) and a few key measurements (length, width, important hole diameters, thickness). This helps me clean the scan, reverse engineer the shape correctly, and deliver an accurate editable CAD model (STEP).
What is included in your reverse engineering service?
I take your scan or STL mesh and perform 3D scan cleanup and then reverse engineer the part into a solid CAD model. You receive a clean STL to STEP conversion that is editable in CAD software and can be used for 3D printing, or CNC machining
How accurate will the CAD model be?
Accuracy depends on the quality of your 3D scan / STL and the measurements you provide. For most projects I aim for a practical engineering tolerance suitable for 3D printing and general manufacturing.
What types of parts can you reverse engineer?
I can handle mechanical components, brackets, enclosures, housings, cosplay parts, replacement parts, and organic shapes as long as the scan quality is usable. For extremely complex assemblies or multiple parts, please contact me first for a custom offer.
What formats do you deliver?
By default, I deliver a STEP file plus a cleaned STL. On request, I can also export additional formats (such as IGES or native CAD, depending on the software I use). These files can be opened and edited in common CAD programs like SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, etc.
