Is this the same as regular SEO?
No. Traditional SEO targets Google's standard search results. GEO and AEO target AI-generated answer panels, a growing and separate portion of search that traditional SEO doesn't address. They complement each other but are distinct disciplines.

Do I need to be technical to implement your recommendations?

I've already done SEO — will this still help?
Almost certainly yes. Even well-optimised websites are rarely optimised for AI citation specifically. The criteria are different. Most GEO issues I find are on pages that already rank well on traditional Google search.
