FAQ
What can I expect from your work?
I'll read, proofread and where necessary, rewrite the translated novel. I'll take care that expressions are translated adequately, that there's a consistency with characters/names and that the content is overall readable, free of errors - and overall enjoyable for a German-speaking audience.
Which genres have you worked with before?
I have experience with: Urban Fantasy, Romance, Sweet Romance, Steamy Romance, Mystery & Thriller. I have proofread/translated at least 5+ book series from authors from the US, Canada and the UK.
What else can I expect from your services?
Each book might be checked (proofread/edited) by two people (four-eyes principle) in order to obtain the best possible result.
What is the order process like?
I strongly recommend that you contact me beforehand to avoid mistakes and see that I can work with your project. I'll also check the word count beforehand so we can make sure the amount of words is correct.
Do you use AI/machine translation?
I work with professional translation software & tools, like any translator. However, these are only used as aid and I will always deliver a thoroughly proofread and edited translation which stays close to the content and tone of the original version, so no stone will be left unturned, so to speak.
What's the difference between the packages? Which one is right for me?
The overall approach is the same for all three, only the word count and delivery time differs.
Could you write or analyze something for me?
Unfortunately no, I can only offer proofreading and editing of existing material which was written by you.
Do you translate everything/every genre?
If someone says that he can translate everything - he/she deceives you! I cannot translate very specific texts or books with a lot of technical or scientific terms and poems. With the exception of Non-Fiction, I will read almost all genres.
Can you translate something with more than the indicated word count?
Yes, but please contact me in any case beforehand, so we can talk about relevant details like the time frame and pricing.
Are you a German native speaker?
Yes, I was born and raised in Germany.
