On 21 October 2026, PHP released urgent fixes for two critical flaws known as PHP2Shell (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619). They let attackers take over websites without logging in, and attacks have already been reported.
The fix is updating PHP to 8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27 or 8.5.12. Sites on PHP 8.1 or older get no official fix and need to move to a newer PHP, which often breaks old code. I handle both.
What I do:
- Update PHP on your hosting or server (cPanel/WHM, CloudLinux, CyberPanel, aaPanel, Plesk or a Linux VPS)
- Move your site from PHP 7.x, 8.0 or 8.1 to PHP 8.3 or 8.4
- Fix errors after the update: white screens, critical errors, broken plugins or themes, old code
- Apply PHP's recommended safety settings and restart PHP
- Scan your files for malware
- Test your site and send you a short report

Which package should I choose?
Basic if you only need PHP updated and a few errors fixed. Standard if your site is on PHP 7.x, 8.0 or 8.1 and must move to PHP 8.3 or newer. Premium for a whole server with several sites.
Is my site affected by PHP2Shell?
Almost every site on PHP 5.4 up to 8.5.11 is. Send me your link and I'll check your PHP version. The fixed versions are 8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27 and 8.5.12.
Will updating PHP break my site?
It can if your site runs old PHP. I take a backup and test first, then fix the errors that come up, such as old plugins, themes or custom code.
My site is on PHP 7.4 or 8.1. What then?
Those versions get no official fix, so your site needs to move to PHP 8.3 or 8.4. That's the Standard package: I switch the version and fix what breaks.
Is it safe to share my login?
Yes, here on Fiverr. Please create a separate login or SSH user for me, and remove it or change the password when we're done.
Which hosting do you work with?
cPanel/WHM, CloudLinux, CyberPanel, aaPanel, HestiaCP, Plesk, DirectAdmin and plain Linux VPS (Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky). Shared hosting too, if your panel lets you change PHP.
My hosting company manages PHP. Can you help?
Yes. Some hosts patch PHP for you. I check what they've done, switch your site to the fixed version and fix any errors on your site.
What if something doesn't work after delivery?
If anything I set up in your order doesn't work as delivered, message me here on Fiverr and I'll fix it. New sites, changes you make later or problems caused by your VPS provider aren't covered, but I'm happy to help with a custom offer.
Do you offer ongoing server management?

Do you check if my site was already attacked?
Yes. Standard and Premium include a malware scan of your files. If I find anything suspicious, I'll show you and we can agree on a cleanup.
