What resolution are you working in.
I usually work with 320x200 pixels to get the right "pixely" look, but it really depends on what you as a client want to achieve.
How much do you want for specific number of items/backgrounds/characters?
I take an hour rate, so we can always calculate the whole gig so it fits your needs.
