I will design solar panel upgrade and ev charger electrical layouts for ca and tx
About this Gig
Expert Solar Upgrades & EV Charger Electrical Designs CA & TX
Adding a Level 2 EV charger or expanding an existing solar array often pushes residential electrical panels to their absolute limits. Navigating the NEC 120% busbar rule, Main Panel Upgrades (MPU), and strict local utility interconnection requirements can cause major permit delays.
I provide precise, NEC compliant electrical layouts, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), and load calculations designed to get your solar and EV projects permitted and installed without the headache.
While I specialize in the strict codes of California (Title 24, Rule 21, CALGreen) and Texas (ERCOT, local utility specs), my designs are fully compliant with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and can be adapted for any AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) nationwide.

FAQ
What if my existing electrical panel doesn't have enough capacity?
That is exactly what my load calculations will determine! If your panel is maxed out, I will design a solution such as a Main Panel Upgrade (MPU), a subpanel, or an Energy Management System (EMS) like a Span panel or Neurio and include the necessary schematics for your permit.
Do you only design for California and Texas?
Not at all! I highlight CA and TX because they have high volumes of solar/EV work and very strict, specific utility codes (like Rule 21 and ERCOT). However, I design to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and can easily adapt to the local amendments of any state or county in the US.
What do you need from me to get started?
To start, I need: 1) The project address, 2) A clear photo of your existing main service panel (showing the busbar rating and main breaker), 3) Spec sheets for the proposed EV charger and/or solar equipment, and 4) A basic floorplan or site sketch showing the distance from the panel to the equipment
What happens if the city (AHJ) or utility requests revisions?
Standard AHJ redlines and minor utility adjustments are covered under the revisions included in your package. My goal is to get your plans approved on the first try, but I am here to support you until the permit is issued.
