In future if you want to do any corrections or any changes to your design (color, name, spelling etc) you don't need to again hire a designer and Pay him to create your Logo again. That's why you should have source file of your Logo so you can edit it when needed.

Vector file is Vector images are resolution independent. When you shrink or enlarge a vector image, your shapes get larger, but you won’t lose any detail or get any pixelation. Because your image will always render identically. So you really need a vector file for any printing process.
