I asked him for the source file, and I don't have it. I asked him to show me proof that it had to be added to the pay and never received...

Do not hire this person! If you are looking for someone to cut and paste pictures together, then this your guy. There is NO artistic talent or qualities here. Poor response times and he would not listen to requests. I had to cancel and get a refund. This order was a complete waste of time!
