Gig Summary
About this gig
Hello! I'm Derek from Bristol, UK.
I'm an award-winning composer and mixing engineer offering my experience in mixing and mastering for artists in soundtrack, classical/crossover and similar genres.
Mixing as an art can take a long time to finesse when you're self-producing and sometimes you need to get your work ready and out there before your mixing skills are up to scratch. If mixing still seems like a mysterious dark art to you, I am here to help!
Why Choose Me?
- Vast Experience: 20 years in the field, following graduation with distinction from the Academy of Contemporary Music, UK.
- Award-Winning Work: I recently received the Alan Parsons Award for Best Original Score at the Scotland International Festival of Film.
- Beyond Sound: I aim for an immersive and emotionally rich experience, striving to bring your music to life!
I can also replace stock virtual instruments with top-of-the-range libraries as an extra service if required.

As this was my first time having a song mixed by Derek, I wasn’t sure how the experience would go, but he truly is a master at his craft, and he has a great ear for orchestral music—a skill most mixing engineers on this site lack. Thank you for your superb assistance with my project!
