Need to make changes to an existing STL, mesh, or CAD model? I can help.
Whether you've downloaded a model that needs adjustment, have an existing part that almost fits, or need modifications before manufacturing or 3D printing, I'll make the changes while preserving the original design intent whenever possible.
Common modifications include:
- Resize or adjust dimensions
- Add or remove features
- Repair damaged or non-manifold meshes
- Improve strength for 3D printing
- Add mounting holes, cutouts, or fasteners

I work primarily in Fusion 360 and can provide editable source files when applicable. Simple modifications can often be completed quickly, while complex mesh reconstruction or CAD recreation may require the Premium package.

What files do you need to get started?
Please send your existing model (STL, STEP, OBJ, Fusion 360, or other CAD file if available) along with a description of the changes you'd like made. Reference photos, sketches, or dimensions are always helpful.
Can you edit STL files that aren't originally CAD models?
Yes. Many STL files can be modified directly or recreated as editable CAD when appropriate. The best approach depends on the complexity and quality of the original mesh.
Can you convert and STL into a STEP or editable CAD file?
In many cases, yes. Simple and moderately complex models can often be recreated as editable CAD. Very dense or highly organic meshes may require additional work and should be discussed before ordering.
Can you modify models I downloaded from Thingiverse, Printables, or MakerWorld?
Yes, provided the model's license allows modification and you have the right to use it. Please share the original file and describe the changes you'd like made.
What kinds of modifications can you make?
Common requests include resizing parts, adding or removing features, repairing meshes, strengthening models, adjusting clearances, adding mounting holes, splitting parts for printing, and improving fit or functionality.
Can you gaurantee the modified part will fit?
I design using the information you provide. If dimensions or measurements are accurate, I'll do my best to ensure a proper fit. If critical dimensions are involved, please include as much measurement information as possible before ordering.
What if I'm not sure which package I need?
No problem. Send me your model and a brief description of the changes you'd like made. I'll recommend the package that best fits your project before you place an order.
