Q: What file formats do you accept?
A: I accept 3D scan data, point clouds, STL, OBJ, PLY, and reference images/photos. If you're unsure about your file, just send it and I'll confirm compatibility.
Q: What CAD formats can you deliver?
A: I can deliver STEP, IGES, and native formats such as SolidWorks (.sldprt/.sldasm), Fusion 360, or Parasolid, depending on what you need.
Q: Can you reverse engineer a part from photos only (no scan)?
A: Yes, for simpler parts I can model from clear reference images and known dimensions. For complex or organic shapes, a 3D scan or point cloud gives much more accurate results.
Q: Will the CAD model be parametric/editable, or just a solid copy of the mesh?
A: I deliver fully parametric, feature-based CAD models (extrudes, fillets, sketches, etc.) — not just a solidified mesh — so you can easily edit dimensions and features later.
Q: Do you provide 2D drawings with dimensions?
A: Yes, 2D technical drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T can be added (on request) — please contact me for a custom quote.
