I will design an stm32 pcb with lora or sub ghz rf transceiver and antenna
About this Gig
Your LoRa or sub-GHz node works on the bench, then loses range or drains the battery in the field. That usually comes down to the RF layout and the power design, not the firmware.
I design STM32 boards with an RF transceiver, built to avoid both problems:
- STM32 (L0, L4, G0, F4) paired with SX126x, SX127x, CC1101 or ready-made LoRa modules
- 50-ohm RF trace, antenna footprint with keep-out, and matching and filter network per the chip makers reference design
- SPI, interrupt and reset wiring done correctly for the radio
- Low-power design: LDO or buck choice, battery and solar charging, sleep-current check
- Sensors on I2C, SPI, UART or ADC
- SWD programming header and test points
You receive: schematic (PDF and source), PCB layout, Gerber, drill, BOM, pick-and-place, and a one-page note covering antenna placement, band (433, 868 or 915 MHz) and what to measure on your first board.
Not included: firmware, enclosure design, regulatory certification, or lab antenna tuning (available as a custom offer).
Message me before ordering with your STM32 series, radio chip or module, frequency band and power source, and Ill confirm the right package.
FAQ
Which radio chips and bands do you support?
A: LoRa and sub-GHz chips such as SX126x, SX127x and CC1101, or ready-made LoRa modules. Bands include 433, 868 and 915 MHz. Send me the part number before ordering and I’ll confirm.
Will my board get the same range as the evaluation kit?
A: The aim is to match it. I follow the chip maker’s reference layout for the antenna, matching network and ground. I can’t promise a specific range, because the antenna, enclosure and battery placement also affect it.
Do you tune the antenna in the lab?
A: No. I design the antenna footprint and matching network from the reference design. Lab tuning with measurement equipment can be done as a custom offer.
Which STM32 series do you work with?
A: Low-power and general series such as L0, L4, G0 and F4. If you use another series, message me first.
Can you make the board run on a battery for a long time?
A: I design for low power: efficient regulator choice, sleep-current paths and a battery or solar charging stage. Real battery life also depends on your firmware, so I’ll note what to measure on the first board.
Do you write the firmware?
A: Not in this gig. It covers hardware design only. Firmware can be quoted separately.
Does the design include regulatory certification?
A: No. Power limits and certification depend on your region and product. I’ll point out design choices that could affect it, but testing and approval are separate.
