I will design industrial control systems with minimum bom and project cost
I will do PLC, SCADA, HMI, AutoCAD design for your EPMS Substation Projects
About this Gig
Need a control system designed from your tender's I/O summary and instrument/electrical schᥱdule? I will convert your process description, IO list, rᥱdundancy requirements, and network constraints into a complete, review-ready control system design brand-agnostic and EPC-ready.
My service includes:
- Detailed IO classification (AI/AO/DI/DO, rᥱdundant vs. standalone, spares) as per customer requirements
- Rᥱdundancy philosophy controller, network, and power rᥱdundancy vs. standalone architecture
- Client-server topology and networking design (managed switches, ring/star, VLANs, IP/node schᥱdule)
- Panel design concept layout, wiring philosophy, GA drawings
- Full control system architecture across multiple platforms: ABB AC500, B&R X20, Siemens S7700/S71200/ET200SP HA, Hitachi, Rockwell (Allen-Bradley)&others
- SCADA/HMI integration and data interfacing to MES or central SCADA (OPC UA, Modbus TCP/RTU, and other industrial protocols)
- Detailed engineering documentation and an execution guide so your team can carry the design straight into implementation
You receive a review-ready engineering package that clearly separates controller, network, panel, and SCADA/MES layers.
FAQ
What information do you need to start?
The tender document or process description, IO summary/instrument & electrical schedule (Excel or PDF), required redundancy level, preferred PLC/SCADA brand (or "open"), panel/station locations, cable media, SCADA/HMI/MES details, and any approved-vendor rules. A marked-up existing drawing helps.
Can you work across multiple PLC brands in one project?
Yes. I evaluate ABB AC500, B&R X20, Siemens (S7-700/S7-1200/ET200SP HA), Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, and Hitachi platforms, and recommend or design around the brand(s) that fit your redundancy, budget, and standardization requirements.
What's the difference between redundant and standalone in your design?
Redundant means dual controllers/network paths/power so one failure doesn't stop the process — used for critical loops. Standalone is a single-path design for non-critical systems. I classify each IO/system against your requirements and document the reasoning.
Do you do the panel design and wiring drawings?
At Standard tier you get a GA-level panel layout concept. At Premium tier you get full panel wiring philosophy and GA drawings. Detailed fabrication-ready panel drawings for large panels can be scoped as a custom add-on.
Will you connect the design to our SCADA/MES?
I design the PLC-side interface architecture, tag/data mapping structure, protocol selection (OPC UA, Modbus TCP/RTU, etc.), and node/IP schedule for SCADA or MES integration. Server-side SCADA/MES configuration, licensing, and vendor-specific administration are separate.
Do you provide the actual PLC programming?
This gig covers architecture and detailed engineering design. PLC/HMI programming, commissioning, and on-site work can be added via a custom offer once the design and software version are confirmed — see my other gig for B&R programming specifically.
Will the BOM be ready for purchasing?
The BOM will be part-coded and quantity-based from your inputs. Before ordering, confirm product revision, firmware compatibility, lifecycle status, regional approvals, stock, and price with the vendor or an authorized distributor.
Can you provide an execution guide for our team?
Yes — the Premium package includes a scope-of-work/execution guide document so your in-house or site team can take the design straight into build and configuration.
What if my IO count or scope is larger than the packages?
Message me first with your IO count and scope. I'll review and send a custom offer rather than have you order a package that doesn't fit.
