Do I need to contact you before placing an order?
Yes. Please contact me first for complex PCBs involving BGAs, MPUs/SoCs, DDR/LPDDR, RF, controlled impedance, high-speed interfaces, HDI, or high-current designs. I can review the project and provide a custom offer if needed.
What information do you need to start the project?
Please send your requirements, schematic or block diagram, preferred components, board dimensions, connector positions, power requirements, mechanical constraints, and any manufacturer specifications. Datasheets and reference designs are also helpful.
Which PCB design software do you use?
I primarily use KiCad for schematic capture and PCB layout. Editable KiCad project and source files can be included with the final delivery.
What files will I receive?
Depending on the package, I can provide KiCad source files, schematics, PCB layout, Gerbers, drill files, BOM, pick-and-place files, manufacturing outputs, and STEP/3D board models.
Can you design the schematic as well as the PCB?
Yes. I can design the schematic from your requirements, work from an existing schematic, or review your current design before starting the PCB layout.
Can you design multilayer and high-speed PCBs?
Yes. I can work on multilayer and advanced PCBs. For DDR, RF, BGAs, impedance-controlled routing, high-speed buses, MPUs/SoCs, or HDI designs, please contact me before ordering so I can evaluate the complexity.
Will the PCB be ready for manufacturing?
Yes, when fabrication-ready files are included. I will perform design-rule checks and prepare the required manufacturing outputs. If you already chose a PCB manufacturer, please provide their design rules.
Do you manufacture or physically assemble the PCB?
This gig mainly covers schematic and PCB design. Physical manufacturing, assembly, component purchasing, shipping, and prototype testing are not included unless specifically agreed upon in a custom offer.
What counts as a revision?
A revision covers reasonable changes to the agreed design. Major specification changes, added features, circuit redesigns, or substantial changes after the layout is completed may require an additional charge or custom offer.
