Welcome to my developmental editing gig!
In this in-depth process, I evaluate your manuscript with detailed comments and suggestions, refining your draft and shaping it into a comprehensive work.
Going several times through your work, I focus on the big picture, such as plot, characterization, setting, POV, main and secondary characters, etc.
Every manuscript has different needs, and my developmental process might concern anything from plot holes to character inconsistencies and unsatisfactory arcs.
Substantive editing goes beyond line editing to identify what's missing and unnecessary in your draft, all intending to make it as coherent and moving as possible.
Aside from my comments inside the document, you'll receive a detailed report with overall impressions, plot analysis, plot continuity, chapter analysis, and suggestions for improvement.
I have a soft spot for fantasy novel, Young Adult, Romance, Mystery, Detective stories, and Thrillers, but I would work in a non-fiction book, depending on the genre.

Are there genres you don't work on?
Yes, there are. These include mainly nonfiction (with specific terminology), dystopia, but since each project differs, just message me with your project.
How does the Zoom Call you offer in the extras work?
If you purchase this extra, we'll be able to meet via Zoom to discuss anything you want about your novel. This will be after I have delivered and worked on your novel.
Can you edit a sample for me?
No. If you'd like to ascertain whether we're a good match, you can order the basic gig.
What files do you accept?
MS Word or docs, utilizing the Track Changes feature.
Will you do formatting as well?
No. I focus on the creative part of your writing. I may choose some of the layout (mainly to conform with KDP publishing), though.
