I will audit, rewrite, and improve sops and process documents
SOPs, training guides, and process docs built from scratch
About this Gig
Most documentation problems are not writing problems. They are structure problems - vague steps, missing decision points, no escalation criteria, information buried where no one will find it.
I audit existing SOPs and process documents, identify exactly what is not working and why, and rewrite them so they are specific, organized logically, and actually used.
My portfolio includes a Before/After rewrite sample showing this process in full - a real document with real problems, the audit findings, and the completed rewrite.
What you receive:
- Written audit findings identifying every structural and content problem
- A fully rewritten document addressing every issue identified
- Transformation summary explaining what changed and why (Standard and Premium)
- Clean professional formatting with consistent document control
Not sure if you need a light edit or full rewrite? Order the Basic audit first.

FAQ
What is an SOP?
An SOP, or Standard Operating Procedure, is a step-by-step document that describes how a specific process should be carried out, who is responsible for each step, and what the expected outcome is. SOPs are used to make sure a process runs the same way every time, regardless of who is doing it.
What sections does a standard SOP include?
Purpose, scope, step-by-step procedure, roles and responsibilities, and revision history. Standard and Premium also include definitions, related documents, and a document control header.
How detailed will the SOP be?
As detailed as the process requires. I ask questions before I start to understand the scope and complexity. A simple three-step process does not need ten pages. A complex multi-department workflow might. The package word counts are starting points, not hard limits for straightforward processes.
Do I need to explain my process to you or can you figure it out?
Both. For common business processes I can draft based on best practices and you review for accuracy. For processes specific to your company, a short description, a voice memo, or even a quick conversation is enough for me to get started.
How do I know if I need an audit, a rewrite, or just an edit?
If you are not sure, order the Basic audit first. I will review the document and give you a written summary of exactly what is working, what is not, and what I recommend. If a full rewrite is warranted, the $65 audit fee is credited toward the Standard package so you are not paying twice.
What is the difference between an edit and a rewrite?
An edit corrects errors and improves clarity while keeping the existing structure. A rewrite rebuilds the document from the ground up - new structure, new language, same core information. Most documents that come to me for an audit end up needing a rewrite because the problems are structural, not ju
Can you rewrite a policy document as well as an SOP?
Yes. Policies have different language and structure requirements than SOPs but the audit and rewrite process is the same.
My document is longer than 5 pages. Can you still help?
Yes. Message me before ordering with the document length and I will put together a custom quote.
What is a transformation summary?
A transformation summary is a document I include with Standard and Premium rewrites that explains every change I made and why. It shows you what the original document was missing, what was restructured, and what was added. It is useful for explaining the changes to your team and for understanding wh
