About this Gig
Writers want to see their work read and recognized, but the road to publication is never smooth, especially traditional publication. What is the most tiring part of traditional publication (besides writing the book itself)? Getting an agent, and the hardest part of getting an agent is writing an eye-catching query letter.
Your query letter is your sales pitch and the very first thing that an agent will read. You have to not just tell them about your book; you have to show them that your book is exciting, refreshing, and, most importantly, unique. While you think your work is amazing, you have to convince others of that in a concise, organized manner.
That's where I come in. As an avid reader, writer, and experienced book reviewer, I know what it takes to sell someone on a book. For each query letter, I capture both the content of a book and its spirit. I write captivating query letters for sci-fi/fantasy novels, two genres which are too often underestimated in publication.
If your work is longer than 80k words, order one unit of the "extra word count" extra for every 10k words your manuscript goes above the maximum length. Contact me if you have questions.

FAQ
Will you read my entire book?
Yes, if you order the premium package, which also includes two query letters and a one-page synopsis. If you order the basic package, I will only be reading a summary of the book which you provide, and for the second package I will read a summary plus the first fifty pages.
Will you write a query letter for books that are not in English?
Unfortunately, I do not feel proficient enough in other languages to confidently write query letters for books in other languages. However, if you are trying to pitch a novel translated into English, I can write a query letter for the English-speaking market.
What experience do you have in writing and publication?
I have written query letters for clients before as part of my "write for and with you" gig. I am also currently working towards my Master's in Creative Writing from the University of Edinburgh, and I run a blog about writing called The Writer's Scrap Bin where I have posted several book reviews.
Why specifically sci-fi/fantasy?
While I love reading all different genres, I have a special fondness for sci-fi and fantasy. I have also found that these genres need extra help getting representation since people too often assume that all books of these genres are the same and low-brow even when they aren't.
I have a big manuscript (80,000+ words). Will it cost more for me to get the premium package because it's so long?
As of July 2022, yes. There is an "extra word count" extra that you can order, one for every 10,000 words that your manuscript goes above the 80,000-word limit. I might also need extra time, and I will let you know during the order if that becomes the case.
