Does the package price include material costs?
No, these will be additional to the package price and charged prior to ordering.
What does the production package include?
STEP files, DXFs, 2D technical drawings (Exploded views and part dimensions w/ callouts), Bill of Materials (w/ a list of recommended vendors)
What materials and process do the packages include?
Basic/Standard: Includes design for 3D printed plastics as well as CNC machined metals and bent sheet metals. Premium: Includes model preparation for higher volume process including Injection Molding, Metal Die Casting, and Sheet Metal Welding.
How can I customize my design specifications to improve clarity?
You can include a product requirements document, such as what each feature must do to achieve a successful product. This does not have to be technical, in fact higher level requirements allows for more creative solutions. More detailed and technical requirements can be included as neccessary.
What is the typical lead time for prototypes?
Lead times are subject to vendor timelines, and often representative of the amount you are willing to pay. Regardless I will always aim to have the prototype delivered within the gig time period.
