Are your programmed drums sounding stiff, robotic, or flat? I can change that. I will program multi-velocity, humanized, and genre-specific acoustic drum tracks that sound like a session drummer recorded them in a professional studio.
I specialize in creating the perfect groove, fills, and energy for Rock (Classic, Jangle, Modern, Indie, Hard Rock Power Pop) and Pop (Pop-Rock). I will use my 30+ years experience in acoustic drumming, recording, mixing and mastering drums, percussion, bass guitar and some keyboards. I have performed and recorded with Mark Elliott, Modest Proposal, The Mondays! and The Generation. I have just finished co-producing a debut album for a vintage power pop trio.

I am a life-long musician starting in parade, percussion and rock drumming, migrating into home recording and now using modern digital techniques to produce music. I use my DAW to produce my powerpop band's upcoming vinyl LP/CD. I create custom drum tracks (stemmed as required) and bass guitar tracks for your demo/album. I enhance live drum tracks. I create custom electric guitar sounds for your guitar tracks. I transfer analogue music collections from vinyl, cassettes and minidisc's into high resolution digital files that capture their wonderful sound in very high detail.

Do you use loops or create everything from scratch?
Everything is programmed from scratch, note by note, to match your specific melody, bassline, and song structure.
What format will I receive my files in?
You will receive a standard MIDI file and high-quality 24-bit WAV audio files (both a stereo mix and individual multitrack stems, depending on your package).
What genres can you play ?
I can play drums for power pop, pop, classic rock, mod & punk-style, indie and alternative style music.
What is your musical background ?
I have performed live and recorded in the studio with Modest Proposal, The Mondays! (Long Time Ago CD), The Generation and Mark Elliott ("Common Ground"). I bought my first recording console in 1983 and have been recording/producing music since then. I co-produced an upcoming LP release.

What is a hi resolution multitrack recording ?
Depending on the package, I will provide each client with a hi resolution (24-bit) WAVE file, either a stereo mix and/or individual drum set component tracks, i.e. snare drum on one track, bass drum another, each tom another, cymbals hi-hat - all separated. This allows control over mixed drum sound
What is the best package for my project ?
That depends on what you want. Let's communicate, ask questions and we will structure a proposal that meets your needs without delivery more or less than you need. I work with singer/songwriters, bands, solo acts, digital artists and each need their own type of drumming solution.
What is a ready-to-use stereo drum track ?
This is a fully mixed down hi res (24-bit) drum track that includes sound optimization, limiters, compression, eq, panning that you can drop right into your own song track configuration. The opposite of this is a midi file of the drums that you drop into your own sound processor.
