FAQ
Will the 2025 energy code affect my permit?
It applies to permit applications submitted on or after January 1, 2026, using the 2025 compliance software and forms, so a plan set designed for earlier code won’t pass.
Do you do the Title 24 energy report?
I include Title 24 notes and a CF1R coordination sheet. The compliance report itself comes from a certified energy analyst, which is an add-on at their cost.
Does my ADU need solar panels?
It depends on the project type. A newly built detached ADU generally needs a new solar PV system. Attached ADUs count as additions and garage conversions generally don’t need PV, though exceptions exist. I’ll confirm for your project.
