You get initial and inexpensive feedback to make sure you are on the right track.
Beta reading includes an reader report where I comment on a wide range of narrative features such as:
- character development,
- dialogue,
- world building,
- clarity of writing,
- emotional impact,
- how engaging the story is
- and my first impressions as a reader.
Additionally, I make in line suggestions and comments so you can see which parts of your story are working and which areas may need improving.
I am an experienced writer and editor with over 17 years in the industry. I've worked with clients writing in a variety of genres from children's fiction to memoir, romance to sci-fi. I've also worked with many nonfiction writers. (No explicit or hateful material or horror please).

What about protecting my work and my copyright?
You own your work. That will always be respected. No part of your writing will ever be shared or used in any way.
Will I get detailed feedback and proofreading?
Beta reading is a less expensive option than editing and therefore less detailed. It is a good way to make sure your work is on track before you invest in more thorough editing.
What experience do you have?
I have been a published writer for over 16 years. I am also a writing coach and editor and have helped hundreds of writers shape their fiction and nonfiction stories. I have been on the judging panel for several international writing competitions.
What genres do you read?
I am a huge reader and love a wide variety of genres. I read and have edited contemporary fiction, Memoir, Romance, YA, Sci Fi, Thrillers, and children's fiction. I love it all!
