About this gig
Did your host switch you to a newer PHP version and now your site shows a white screen, a "critical error" message, or a checkout that won't load? That's exactly the kind of mess I clean up.
I have been fixing PHP sites on Fiverr since 2016, and I work as a senior software engineer for a Sweden-based fintech company. Old code doesn't scare me, and neither does code someone else wrote.
What I fix:
- Fatal errors, white screens, and broken admin panels
- Deprecated code (each, create_function, mysql_*, dynamic properties)
- Plugin and theme conflicts after a PHP or WordPress update
- Broken forms, emails, logins, and WooCommerce checkout
- Legacy core PHP, Laravel, CodeIgniter and Yii apps
How I work:
Full backup first. I test the upgrade on staging, fix what breaks, then move it live. You get a short note of every change I made.
Good to know: PHP 8.2 stops getting security patches on December 31, 2026. If you are on 8.2 or older, upgrade on your schedule, not your host's.

My host already upgraded PHP and my site is down right now. Can you help today?
Yes. Send me the error message or a screenshot first so I can see what's going on. For most sites I can roll you back to a working PHP version within a few hours to stop the bleeding, then fix the code properly so you can move forward. Add the extra fast delivery option if it can't wait.
Will you break my live site while working on it?
No. I take a full backup of files and database before changing anything. For upgrades I work on a staging copy first and only push to live once everything checks out. If you don't have staging, I can set one up.
Which PHP version should I upgrade to?
For most sites right now, PHP 8.3 or 8.4. They're supported for years and most plugins handle them well. I only recommend jumping to 8.5 once I've checked that every plugin and library you rely on supports it.
Do you need my passwords?
I'll need access, but you stay in control. Share details through the Fiverr order chat, never by email. The best option is a temporary admin or SFTP user just for me, which you delete after delivery.
One of my plugins isn't maintained anymore. Can you still upgrade?
Usually, yes. Depending on the plugin, I'll patch it so it works on PHP 8, suggest a maintained replacement, or tell you honestly if it's safer to remove. You decide before I do anything.
Is this only for WordPress?
No. About half of what I fix is custom PHP: core PHP apps, Laravel, CodeIgniter, Yii, Slim and Lumen. That includes old apps still using mysql_* functions or code written for PHP 5.
What if you can't fix the problem?
That's why I ask for the error before you order. If I look at it and it's outside what I can do in the package, I'll tell you before you pay, not after.
Can you look after my site once it's fixed?
Yes. Pick the monthly subscription on this gig. I'll keep updates tested, handle small fixes, and warn you well before your next PHP version runs out of support.
