About this Gig
Hello! I'm Elena, and I am passionate about helping writers bring their stories to life. With my background and knowledge of storytelling, I would love the opportunity to provide you feedback on your novel!
My going rate is $1.50 USD per 1,000 words.
NOTE: I do not work with anyone who has used generative AI to write their novel in any capacity.
As a beta reader, I write comments of opinions, thoughts and feedback, so you will be receiving my first impressions as I progress through your manuscript.
When providing feedback, I focus on:
- Plot
- Character development
- Structure
- Tension and conflict
In the reader report I provide, I answer the following questions to allow you to understand the reader experience of your story, of things that work and things that can improve:
- How was the hook, and was it intriguing enough for me to want to continue?
- Was the plot engaging and easy to follow?
- Were the characters relatable, believable and well-developed?
- Was the dialogue natural?
- How was the tension and pacing of the story?
- What were my favourite parts?
- What do I believe can be improved?
- Did I enjoy the book?
Please feel free to mention any questions you would like me to focus on!

Elena gave me plenty to think about, and lots of great feedback about pacing, structure, and the characters themselves. Some of the feedback, I already knew and so it was great to have someone else confirm what I was thinking. At the same time, having completely unexpected feedback that I hadn't considered,...
