These limitations are what created some of the most iconic sounds in hip hop from the raw and dirty Wu-tang to more modern examples such as the heavily distorted sound of artists like xxxtentacion.

In today's day and age, it's easy for anyone to get a clean sound with the advent of digital audio, however this pristine sound leaves much to be desired especially within a genre as dynamic as Hip Hop.
