About this Gig
Hi there! My name is Elliot. I am an experienced writer from Ontario, Canada. You can find some of my works published by various magazines and news sites, including Manitoba Possible, Girls Right the World, and the Annex Gleaner.
I'm an avid reader in my spare time, and my preference is typically for literary fiction - on that note, I'll read anything! If you have an action-filled fantasy novel you want dissected, or a riveting short story in the horror genre, I'll accept it and send you an honest and personal reader report.
So, what makes me the right beta reader for you? Here's some things about me that you might find relevant:
- I'm young! I find that when I am reading a novel written by an adult for a teen audience, some things just don't translate well. I can help fix that!
- I'm going to be attending University for Creative Writing. As of September, I'll be starting my gap year before attending a Canadian University in 2026. I'm extremely passionate in my field.
- I've got experience! This isn't my first time freelancing, let alone beta reading.
- I do not use AI! I will always prioritize human feedback and art.

What genres would you be willing to read?
I'm seventeen, so at the current moment I am limiting the work I'll be reading to anything not labelled strictly 18+. Send me a message if you're not sure! Otherwise, I am open to anything (however, contact me for poetry, screenplays, or stageplays).
What can I expect in a reader report?
I will prioritize whichever areas you want me to really hone in on. A reader report will typically cover my thoughts on characters, plot, general writing style and tone of voice, overall consistency, any noticeable plot holes, etc.
