PSD is Photoshop File Format and Ai is Illustrator File Format. Ai is better than PSD as Ai is a vector file. In a vector file you can zoom from 0 to 1000+ or resize the image from 10 pix to 10000+ pix, still, the image won't get pixilated. But in PSD it gets pixilated if you zoom/ resize too much.
