What kind of texts do you proofread/edit?
I proofread and edit Spanish and Portuguese texts (PT-BR and ES variants), including business documents, technical content, marketing copy, academic/general writing, and translations that need polishing. Please note that I'll be unable to translate any religious, occult, or esoteric content.
Is this proofreading only, or do you also rewrite?
I can do either, depending on what you need: Proofreading: grammar, spelling, punctuation, and minor style fixes. Editing: improved clarity/flow and stronger wording while keeping your meaning intact. Tell me your preference when you place the order.
Which Spanish/Portuguese variant do you use?
Please specify the target variant (Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Latin America). If you’re unsure, tell me your target audience region and I’ll recommend the best option.
Will you keep formatting? Can you use Track Changes?
Yes. I preserve formatting whenever possible (Word/PDF, headings, tables). If you send a Word document, I can deliver with Track Changes (or a clean final version—your choice).
Do you proofread scanned PDFs or images?
If the text is selectable/editable, yes. If it’s scanned/non-editable, it may require transcription first, which is quoted separately. Send the file and I’ll confirm.
How do you count words?
Pricing is based on the word count of the text to be proofread/edited. For PDFs or non-standard formats, I’ll confirm the count after reviewing the file.
Can you proofread localization/subtitle files (JSON/HTML/SRT)?
Yes. I can proofread .json/.csv/.xml/.html/.srt while preserving placeholders/tags. If the workflow is complex, I may quote a small formatting/QA add-on.
Can you proofread machine/AI-generated translations?
Yes, but pricing depends on quality. Light proofreading (grammar, style, consistency) is billed as proofreading. If the draft requires substantial rewriting to sound natural, it is treated as post-editing / rewriting and may be priced differently. Send the file and I’ll confirm the best option.
