About this Gig
This is the FOURTH STEP of my editing and publishing process. Please see my other gigs for the prior steps, or ensure you have completed them yourself.
I will deliver a meticulous Proofread (also called a final polish, final pass, proofing pass, error check, or quality check) to catch the last errors before you publish or submit. I'll correct typos, grammar, punctuation, and spelling, and I'll scan for formatting inconsistencies that can slip in during revisions or layout.
You'll receive:
- a Track Changes copy with final corrections
- a Clean Copy for easy review
- a final quality check for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting consistency
This package is ideal as the final editing step after a beta read, structural edit, content edit, and Vellum layout (if applicable). Turnaround time is approximately 1 day per 4,000 words; however, delivery timelines might be extended to account for Fiverr's instant book feature.
See my FAQs for more information, and please reach out before placing an order to confirm my availability.
I look forward to working with you!

FAQ
What qualifies you to proofread my manuscript?
I have a BA in French and journalism, an MA in publishing and creative writing, and I’m a contract editor for a major U.S. proofreading service. I proofread to publication-ready standards with a sharp eye for detail.
What is proofreading (and what isn’t it)?
Proofreading is a final quality check for typos, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting consistency. It is neither a structural/developmental edit nor a line/content edit.
What genres do you accept?
I specialize in fantasy, sci-fi, romance, romantasy, horror, thriller, YA, and self-help nonfiction, but I’m happy to work with any genre.
What will I receive?
You’ll receive a Clean Copy and a Track Changes copy with final corrections and a complete error/formatting check.
Will you rewrite sentences or change my voice?
No. Proofreading focuses on correcting errors, such as typos, spelling, punctuation, and grammar issues, not rewriting. If I notice a bigger clarity issue, I may flag it; any rewrites will be very limited.
Can you proofread an already self-published book?
Yes. Upload the most current manuscript file. If you want a final pass on the published version, include a PDF or sales link.
Do you accept AI-assisted manuscripts?
AI-assisted work is welcome if its use is clearly disclosed on the copyright page. I do not edit fully AI-generated manuscripts. Per U.S. copyright law, work must reflect the author’s voice and include significant human creative input before editing begins.
Do you accept explicit content (spice/violence/dark themes)?
Yes. I’m comfortable proofreading explicit material, including steamy romance and darker themes. If you have hard limits or triggers you want flagged, please tell me up front.
How confidential is this?
Completely confidential. I will not share or reuse your content (NDA available on request).
What do you need from me to start?
I’ll need your final manuscript file (Word or Vellum source file preferred; PDF accepted), word count, genre, dialect (US, UK…), and any style preferences. If you’re using Google Docs, share a link with edit access.
