About this Gig
I will perform developmental edits on your novel, adding notes to a Google doc provided to me, and setting aside a further explanation of said edits in the form of a report, which will be sent to you. Optional extras include more detailed annotations, fast delivery, and assistance in planning on expanding your series.
The things I look out for include:
- Strong characterisation, or a lack thereof.
- Lacking description.
- Pacing.
- Plot holes.
- Weak points in the plot.
- Consistency of tone.
- Tense changes.
As an English literature graduate and the self-published author of over seven books for young adults and children, I know what to look for in a strong piece of fiction, and can help you to achieve something that will stand out in a crowded marketplace. I'd mostly like to work on contemporary fiction novels, though I'm open to other forms of writing.

Emma was very quick with delivery and had much constructive criticism that helped develop my story. However, I got a strong sense that my book might not have been her preferred genre, which sometimes came through in feedback. Overall, I would recommend Emma to work with if you want someone who works fast and has extensive knowledge in writing.
