What is Hermes Agent?
An open-source AI agent from Nous Research that runs on your own machine, remembers what it learns across sessions, and builds reusable skills over time. It connects to Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp and 16 other platforms. Free and MIT licensed.
Do I need a VPS?
No. Hermes runs on your own Mac, Linux machine, or Windows via WSL2. A VPS is only needed if you want it online 24/7 while your computer is off. A 5 dollar per month VPS is enough and I will help you pick one before you order.
What will this cost me every month?
The software is free. Your only ongoing cost is LLM API usage, typically 5 to 20 dollars a month for light use, more if the agent runs constantly. In Premium I configure cost controls so it cannot run away with your budget.
How is this different from the cheaper install gigs?
Those get the process started on your machine. Reboot your server and it is gone. I make sure it survives restarts, keeps its memory, has scoped permissions, and does the specific job you hired it for. You also get documentation, so you are never locked to me.
Is it safe to give an AI agent access to my machine?
That is the right question. By default Hermes has broad access to your files and shell. Premium includes sandboxed permissions and isolated API keys, and I show you exactly what your agent can and cannot touch. I also offer this as a standalone hardening pass on an existing setup, just message me.
Can you migrate my existing OpenClaw setup, and what if something breaks later?
Yes on migration, I move your channels, memory, and custom tools across without losing state, message me for a custom offer. On support: Standard includes 7 days and Premium 21 days. If something I configured stops working in that window, I fix it free.
