FAQ
What does AHJ mean and why does it matter?
AHJ stands for Authority Having Jurisdiction the local building or fire department that reviews and approves your solar permit. My designs are formatted to meet AHJ requirements across all 50 US states, minimizing rejections and resubmissions.
What is included in a full solar permit plan set?
A complete permit set includes the rooftop panel layout, single-line diagram (SLD), conduit routing, equipment schedule, load calculations, service entrance details, and structural attachment notes everything your AHJ needs to approve the installation.
What information do you need from me to start?
Your roof dimensions or satellite image, utility company name, existing electrical panel details (main breaker size), desired system size or number of panels, and the inverter/panel brand if already selected.
What software do you use for designs?
I use Aurora Solar for shading and layout, AutoCAD for plan set drafting, and PVsyst for energy production verification. All files are delivered in PDF and DWG formats.
What if my AHJ requests changes or corrections?
The Premium package includes unlimited revisions until your permit is approved. For Basic and Standard packages, I offer two revision rounds. Additional AHJ correction rounds can be added as a gig extra.
