What is the difference between an alpha read and a beta read?
An alpha read happens early usually on a first or second draft that is still rough and unfinished. It gives you big-picture feedback before you invest time in detailed editing. A beta read happens later, on a more complete manuscript. It goes deeper and covers everything from structure and charact
Will you rewrite anything for me?
No. A beta read and critique is feedback, not editing or rewriting. I tell you what needs to change and often suggest how but the actual rewriting is your job as the author. If you need line editing or proofreading, that is a different service.
Is my manuscript kept confidential?
Absolutely. Your manuscript is your intellectual property. I do not share, copy, distribute, or discuss your work with anyone. Everything stays strictly between us.
What if English is not my first language?
That is completely fine. I focus on story elements plot, character, pacing, world-building, and structure not grammar or spelling. If your English has some rough edges, I will note it generally but my focus is on helping your story work, not correction
Do you give feedback on self-published books or only pre-publication manuscripts?
I primarily work with manuscripts that have not been published yet — whether you are planning to submit to agents or self-publish. If you have a published book you want to improve for a new edition, feel free to me and we can discuss whether this service is the right fit.
