About this Gig
Let me offer both a reader's and a writer's perspective on your work. I know how hard it can be to share your writing with others, so I make sure to provide honest and in-depth critiques that are constructive, not destructive.
My focuses are on:
- The Hook Does your first line grab me? Do the first few pages?
- Characterization including motivation, development, consistency, and interplay
- Dialogue For conciseness and flow
- Pacing Scene, chapter, and book level
- Setting, Atmosphere, and Worldbuilding Does the setting feel alive?
- Plot and Conflict Are there any plot holes or inconsistencies?
- Tone Does the tone ever feel at odds with the story?
- Prose Including grammar, sentence syntax, and vocabulary
I provide in-line comments, a reader report, and a style sheet, and am happy to answer any additional questionnaires you submit. I also perform light editing (spelling mistakes, confusing sentences, distracting repetition, etc.) but this is not an editing service and comes as noticed. I also offer alpha reading services.
