What types of sheet metal projects can you design?
I can design a wide variety of projects, such as electronics enclosures, housings, brackets, grills, cones, elbows, transitions, cylinders, etc.
Do you offer 3D modeling or just manufacturing drawings?
My main service is the creation of manufacturing drawings, but if you need it, I can 3D model the part so you can see how it will look before production. You can choose a package that includes 3D modeling.
What software do you use for design?
I use Autodesk Inventor, a professional design software that ensures accuracy and compatibility with manufacturing machines. I work with Inventor versions 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Do you work with dimensions in inches or millimeters?
I can work with both units (inches or millimeters); just let me know at the start of the project.
What information do I need to send you to get started?
I need you to send me a hand-drawn sketch, a 2D drawing, a reference image, or a detailed description of the part you need. I can also work from Sketchup (.skp) files. The more information you provide, the faster and more accurate the result will be.
What type of final files will you deliver?
I will provide you with .DXF files for laser or plasma cutting, and a PDF with the detailed manufacturing drawing (bend angles, material thickness, and dimensions). If needed, I can also include the Inventor source file (.IPT) and .DWG.
