About this gig
Hello! I'm Ged. A singer, producer and recording engineer from West Lothian in Scotland.
I've been recording my voice for over 15 years.
In that time I have developed a keen sense of how to best capture my own voice. This includes recording set up and equipment, but also enunciation, cadence and tone.
My natural accent is Scottish. Specifically from West Lothian, which is inbetween Edinburgh and Glasgow.
It is characterful but clear. A notable example is David Tennant.
I'm a Bachelor of Music with honours from Kingston University London and I'm a Master of Science in Sound Design, awarded with merit by The University of Glasgow.
Whilst studying, I was formally trained in classical technique, Estill Voice Training and sound engineering. I also have an earlier BA with English Lit included.
I work out of a well equipped home studio space with professional gear, acoustic treatment and cutting edge software.

Hello! I'm a vocalist, composer and producer from West Lothian in Scotland.
I've been performing, writing and recording for over 15 years.
In that time I've worked in Metal, Post-Hardcore, Rock, Pop, Electronica, EDM, Gospel, Jazz and Country. I'm confident at trying my hand at any genre.
I work out of a well equipped home studio space that allows me to write, record and edit to a professional standard.
I'm formally trained in classical technique, Estill Voice Training and modern belting styles.
I endeavour to impart my own unique character to everything I do!
FAQ
How will the voiceover be recorded?
I track in my home studio. The room is acoustically treated and I also use a large fibre glass panel to ensure there is no unwanted room tone. The tracking chain is: Telefunken CU-29 Copperhead Tube Condenser > Heritage TT-73 Preamp > Audioscape 76A Compressor > RME Babyface Pro Interface.
Do you take custom orders?
Absolutely! I'm happy to discuss the finer details of any project, custom or not. However we can really tweak the commission to your liking by making it custom.
What vocal training do you have?
I'm formally trained in classical singing by an Opera coach. This same coach also taught me Estill Voice Training, which is commonly used in Musical Theatre.
Do you have any character mics?
Yes! In addition to the large diaphram condenser, I have a Telefunken M80 Dynamic. I also have a circuit bent 70's telephone handset. This is great for lofi or radio sounding vocals
What styles do you work in?
I am comfortable with voiceover for most purposes. I can exaggerate my accent or flatten it out. However my voice is at its best when it sounds natural. I can certainly be directed though. For example; ASMR whispers, loud and projected, subdued, authoritative, warm and friendly.
Can you apply any processing to the voiceover?
Definitely! In addition to working in voiceover, I'm also an experienced sound designer and producer. I love effecting and processing my voice. This is available as an add-on and the specifics can be discussed in detail.
What add-ons do you offer?
I can proof read your script prior to recording. I have a BA that includes print journalism and english lit. Plus my attention to detail is strong. Full broadcasting use can also be added.
What will you deliver?
The voiceover will be delivered as a high quality 44.1khz 24 bit mono WAV file.
