About this gig
Need a drone, UAV or VTOL designed properly, not just modeled? I'm an aerospace engineer who designs multirotor, FPV, VTOL and fixed-wing aircraft, plus the mechanical parts around them, in SolidWorks and Fusion 360.
What I design:
- Drone frames, arms, landing gear, payload bays, camera and battery mounts
- Fixed-wing, VTOL and quadplane airframes with internal ribs and structure
- UGV chassis, robotic assemblies and mechanisms with parts that actually mate
- Enclosures and electronics packaging for UAV and robotics hardware
Engineering behind it:
- CFD checks of drag, lift and pressure (higher packages)
- Weight reduction and component packaging
- Design for manufacturing: 3D printing (FDM, SLA, SLS), CNC machining, sheet metal and laser cutting, carbon fiber layups
You receive native SolidWorks files (SLDPRT, SLDASM), STEP and STL files, and 2D drawings in PDF or DXF on request.

What is the typical timeline for completing a custom CAD project?
It heavily depends on complexity! Simple 3D printable parts take about 7 days. Full drone frames or robotic chassis take around 14 days to ensure perfect mating. Highly complex mechanical assemblies take up to 30 days. Send me your sketches and I can give you an exact estimate!
What file formats will I receive upon completion?
I provide native SolidWorks source files (.SLDPRT, .SLDASM), STEP files for universal CAD compatibility, and STLs optimized for 3D printing. If you need 2D technical drawings for manufacturing, I provide those in PDF and DXF formats.
My design is strictly confidential. Will you sign an NDA?
Absolutely. I work with proprietary aerospace and robotics designs regularly. I am completely happy to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before you share any specific project details, sketches, or ideas. Your intellectual property is safe.
What do you need from me to start the design process?
A simple hand sketch with rough dimensions is the best starting point! Reference photos of similar products, links to internal components (like motors or batteries you are using), and a description of how you plan to manufacture it will also help.
