I will build custom shopify API integrations, private apps and webhooks

About this gig
Your Shopify store shouldn't run on manual work. I build the API connections that automate everything.
Shopify handles sales. But connecting your store to ERPs, CRMs, inventory systems, and custom tools? That's where things break. Manual exports, missed orders, inventory mismatches. I build custom API integrations and middleware that make your systems talk to each other automatically.
What I Build:
- Custom Shopify private apps (Admin & Storefront API)
- REST & GraphQL API integrations
- Webhook automation for orders, inventory, customers
- ERP, CRM, and fulfillment system connections
- Real-time data sync with error handling
- Middleware that bridges Shopify with any external system
My Stack:
- Node.js for backend middleware and API bridges
- React for embedded app interfaces
- GraphQL (Shopify's recommended API REST is now legacy)
- Webhooks with Shopify's new Next Generation Events system
Common Use Cases:
- Sync inventory between Shopify and your warehouse
- Connect Shopify orders to your ERP
- Build a custom dashboard for your team
- Automate order routing to fulfillment partners
- Integrate subscription or membership systems
Message me with your integration requirements. I'll confirm scope

FAQ
Q1: What's the difference between a private app and a public app?
A private app works for one store only and uses an admin-generated access token. A public app is distributed through the Shopify App Store and requires OAuth for each store install. For most client projects, a private app is simpler and faster
Q2: Should I use REST or GraphQL API?
GraphQL. Shopify made REST Admin API legacy in October 2024, and GraphQL is required for all new public apps since April 2025 . I build GraphQL-first integrations that are future-proof and more efficient.
Q3: What are webhooks and why do I need them?
Webhooks let Shopify notify your system when something happens: an order is placed, inventory changes, a customer signs up. Instead of polling for updates, you get real-time events. I set up webhooks with proper error handling and retry logic.
Q4: Can you integrate Shopify with my ERP or CRM?
Yes. I've built middleware connecting Shopify to various systems using Node.js. I handle authentication, data mapping, rate limits, and two-way sync. Share your ERP/CRM details and I'll confirm feasibility.
Q5: What is Shopify's new Next Generation Events system?
Shopify is overhauling webhooks with filterable subscriptions and custom GraphQL payloads. Instead of receiving massive payloads for every product update, you get exactly the data you need. This reduces noise and costs significantly . I'm ready to build with this new system.
Q6: Do you handle API rate limits?
Yes. Shopify uses cost-based rate limiting for GraphQL and request-based for REST. I build integrations with proper backoff, queuing, and retry logic to stay within limits
Q7: How long does a typical integration take?
Basic: 3 days for simple connections. Standard: 7 days for multi-system integrations. Premium: 14 days for complex enterprise setups. Timeline depends on API documentation availability and third-party system access.
Q8: Do you provide documentation?
Yes. Standard and Premium packages include documentation covering API endpoints, authentication, data flows, and error handling. You or your team can maintain the integration after delivery.
Q9: Can you build an embedded Shopify app?
Yes. For Premium packages, I can build embedded apps using React that appear inside your Shopify admin. This is useful for internal tools, dashboards, or custom workflows.
Q10: What if the integration breaks after delivery?
Standard includes 2 revisions. Premium includes 30-day support for bug fixes. If you need ongoing maintenance, message me for a monthly retainer.
