About this Gig
Four checks before you pay.
12 years in procurement in Guangdong, both sides of the table.
WHAT I CHECK
1. THE PRICE Quotation review
Material, processing, tooling, overhead, margin and scrap rate each checked against market rates, plus a negotiation plan.
2. THE FACTORY On-site audit
I go there myself. Capacity, machinery, QC process and subcontracting. 25-point check with photos.
3. THE GOODS Pre-shipment inspection
Sampling to AQL (GB/T 2828.1). Defects classified Critical / Major / Minor, with a pass or fail.
4. THE CREDENTIALS Qualification check
Business licence and scope, production permits, ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 and product certificates.
Material cost is easy to look up. Whether the overhead, margin and scrap are real is not. That is what I check.

FAQ
What is the difference between your packages?
Basic is a remote quotation review only — no site visit. Standard includes me visiting the factory in person: a 25-point audit plus checks on the licence, permits and ISO certificates. Premium adds a pre-shipment inspection to AQL, done on the same trip.
Why do you need to visit the factory?
Because overhead rate, margin and scrap rate cannot be judged from a spreadsheet. A 50-person workshop and a 500-person factory with ISO systems have very different cost structures. Seeing the factory is what makes the numbers meaningful.
Can you negotiate with my supplier to lower the price?
Yes — I will try. Negotiating with factories is what I did for 12 years. I will tell you which lines are above range, then take it up with the supplier directly. I cannot guarantee a specific reduction, but you will see where the factory stands.
Do you take a commission from factories?
No. I do not accept factory commissions. That is also why I can negotiate hard for you — my only incentive is to get you the lowest fair price. An agent paid by the factory has the opposite incentive.
What if my supplier did not give a cost breakdown?
Tell me. I will tell you exactly what to ask them for. If they refuse to provide a breakdown, that is itself useful information.
Can you work outside Guangdong?
Yes. I am based in Zhongshan and travel across Guangdong. For factories in other provinces (Fujian, Zhejiang and beyond) there is a travel extra covering transport and up to 3 working days on site.
