You have the frame: a physical pair, a photo or a 3D scan. What you dont have is a CAD file. I reverse engineer eyeglass frames and sunglasses into clean, editable STEP CAD models you can modify, scale and share with your team.
I rebuild the geometry by hand in SolidWorks and CATIA V5 from your photos, STL or OBJ scan, sketches and measurements. This is not an automatic mesh conversion.
What I rebuild:
- Eyeglass and sunglass frame fronts, rims, bridge and nose pads
- Full rim, half rim and rimless frames
- Temple arms, tips and hinge details
- Lens openings, grooves and bevel seats
- Scan to CAD from STL or OBJ mesh files
- Photo to CAD from front, side and top views with known dimensions
- Existing frame updates: new bridge, thinner temples, size variants
What you receive:
- STEP file of the eyewear frame
- 3D print ready STL
- Editable SolidWorks source
- 2D drawings in PDF and DXF
Best accuracy comes from a scan or measurements. Photo-only work is approximate, so send lens width, bridge and temple length at minimum.
CAD files only: no scanning, printing or shipping. Message me your reference files before ordering.

I’m Afo Ibra, a product designer working on sunglasses, optical frames and smart glasses. I turn sketches, reference photos and early ideas into 3D models, paying attention to frame shape, hinges, component placement and how the parts fit together. For smart eyewear, I also consider space for cameras, speakers, batteries and other electronics. FAQ
Can you work from photos only?
Yes, but the result is approximate. For accurate geometry, send a scan or at least lens width, bridge width and temple length, with clear front, side and top photos.
Is this an automatic mesh to STEP conversion?
No. I rebuild the frame manually as clean, editable CAD. You get a usable model, not a mesh converted to a surface file.
What files do I get, and do you scan or print?
STEP and 3D-print-ready STL. Standard and Premium add SolidWorks source files, and Premium adds PDF and DXF drawings. I deliver CAD files only: no scanning, printing, assembly or shipping.
Can I order a model of any frame?
Only order frames you own, designed, or have the right to reproduce. Please confirm this when you message me. This isn’t legal advice.
