Telegram can do a lot more than chat: auto-replies, channel monitoring, scheduled posting, forwarding between chats, alerts from your spreadsheets or servers. I build these as Python bots with Telethon, which talks to Telegram's own MTProto API - so your bot can work with message history, channels and accounts in ways regular Bot API bots can't.

Why Telethon and not the regular Bot API?
Telethon uses Telegram's full MTProto API. That means access to message history, channel monitoring and account-level features that Bot API bots simply don't have. For a plain command bot the difference is invisible; for automation it's the whole point.
Do you host the bot?
Hosting isn't included, but deploy help is: I'll get it running on your VPS or a free-tier cloud box and show you how to restart it. You keep full control - it's your server and your API keys.
What do you need from me to start?
A plain-language description of what the bot should do, step by step. No technical spec needed - I'll ask the right questions and confirm the plan before writing code.
Can you add features to the bot later?
Yes. Since you own the source code, anyone can extend it - but if you come back to me, follow-up orders build on what's already there instead of starting from zero.
