What file format do I need to send you for manuscript formatting?
Send your manuscript as a Microsoft Word (.docx) or Google Doc. I'll handle the rest no need to do any pre formatting on your end before sending.
Will the formatted file be accepted by Amazon KDP on the first upload?
Yes. I format specifically to KDP's interior file specs, correct margins, bleed, trim size, and resolution so it passes their review without errors.
What's the difference between ebook formatting and paperback formatting?
Ebook formatting produces an ePub or MOBI file for Kindle. Paperback formatting produces a print ready PDF with physical page layout. They have different specs and both are available here.
Do you format both fiction and nonfiction manuscripts?
Yes. I format fiction novels, nonfiction books, memoirs, self help books, poetry collections, and workbooks. Contact me first for children's books or heavily illustrated manuscripts.
Can you format my manuscript for IngramSpark or Lulu, not just KDP?
Yes. I format for KDP, IngramSpark, Lulu, Draft2Digital, and other major platforms. Just let me know where you're publishing when you message me.
My manuscript was previously formatted but KDP rejected it. Can you fix it?
Yes, this is one of the most common requests I handle. Share the rejection notice and your file and I'll identify and fix the exact issue causing the error.
Do you create the table of contents, or do I need to provide one?
I build the table of contents for you, clickable for ebooks and properly formatted for print. You don't need to prepare it separately.
What trim sizes do you work with for paperback formatting?
I work with all standard KDP and IngramSpark trim sizes including 5x8, 5.5x8.5, and 6x9. If you're unsure which to use, I can recommend the right one for your genre.
Do I need to buy a separate ISBN or cover before ordering formatting?
No. Manuscript formatting only covers the interior of your book. Your cover is a separate file. I can format your interior regardless of whether your cover is ready.
Can you help me upload the formatted manuscript to my Amazon KDP account?
I deliver the exact files you need for a seamless upload. While I don't log directly into buyer accounts for security reasons, I can guide you through the process step by step.
