About this gig
Your story deserves more than beautiful pictures - it deserves a world your readers can step into.
Im Franco Caro, a childrens book illustrator with 40+ published titles worldwide. I create hand-drawn, whimsical illustrations that bring characters, emotions, and story moments to life while keeping the visual style consistent throughout your book.
I work closely with authors from the first visual ideas to the final artwork, helping with character design, scenes, storytelling, composition, and book presentation, especially when you are publishing your first book.
Your illustrations are prepared for both print and digital editions, with high-resolution files suitable for platforms such as Amazon KDP, Apple Books, and IngramSpark.
Pricing per page:
$60 Spot (1 character, simple background)
$80 Full page (2-3 characters, full background)
$120 Double spread (4-5 characters, full scene)
Every order includes: 300 DPI PNG/JPEG/PDF files, CMYK or sRGB, commercial rights, publishing-ready artwork, and basic text and illustration layout when needed. We begin with sketches so you can review the visual direction before moving into the final artwork.

FAQ
1. What is your work process?
I start by understanding your story, characters, and visual direction. Then I create rough sketches for your approval. Once approved, I move into coloring, details, and final artwork, keeping you updated throughout the process.
2. What information do you need from the client to get started?
I’ll need your story, character descriptions, scene details, and any visual references you have. If you have a specific style, mood, or vision in mind, feel free to share it. The more context you provide, the better I can bring your story to life.
3. How long does it take to deliver an illustration?
Delivery time depends on the package: Basic takes 4 days, Standard 6 days, and Premium 7 days. Good communication, clear feedback, and creative freedom help keep the process smooth and efficient.
4. How do revisions work?
Revisions are unlimited during the sketch phase, where we refine the visual direction together. Once the sketch is approved, major changes to the final artwork may require an additional fee.
5. What formats are the illustrations delivered in?
I deliver high-resolution PNG/JPEG files at 300 DPI, ready for print and digital publishing. Standard and Premium also include print-ready PDF files with bleed. sRGB is standard, with CMYK available on request.
6. Can you illustrate multi-page projects or books?
Absolutely! I can illustrate complete children's books while maintaining character consistency and visual flow. Larger projects can be divided into milestones, typically every 5 pages or spreads, to keep the process organized and easy to review.
7. What are the advantages of each package?
Basic is ideal for simple spot or half-page illustrations. Standard offers full-page scenes with more characters and background detail. Premium is best for double-page spreads with larger scenes and more complex storytelling.
8. Is the cover included?
The cover is not included in the illustration packages. I offer custom children’s book covers as a separate service. Message me with your requirements and I’ll be happy to provide a personalized quote.
9. Can you add text or formatting?
Yes! I can integrate your text, title, and author name with the illustrations, including basic layout and placement. If you prefer to handle the text yourself, I can also deliver the illustrations separately.
10. Do you use AI for your artwork?
No. All my illustrations are 100% hand-drawn and created from scratch using professional digital tools. I do not use AI-generated artwork, so every illustration is original and tailored to your story.
