Is virtualizing Linux (like Ubuntu or Rocky Linux) or Windows safe for my computer?
Yes, it is 100% safe. A virtual machine acts as a completely isolated "sandbox" environment inside your PC. It will not alter, affect, or delete any of your personal files or your main Windows operating system.
What are the minimum PC requirements to run a virtual machine smoothly?
Ideally, your physical computer should have at least 8GB of RAM and a quad-core processor. This ensures we can allocate enough resources (like CPU cores and memory) to the virtual machine so that both your main PC and the VM run fast and lag-free.
How will we connect so you can configure my virtual machine?
We will use a secure, encrypted remote desktop application like AnyDesk. You will be able to see every single click I make on your screen in real-time, and you can close the connection at any moment. Your privacy is fully respected.
Do I need to provide the Operating System (OS) license key or ISO?
Free Linux distributions (such as Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, or Mint) do not require any license keys, and I will download their official ISO files for you. If you want to run a Windows VM, I can set it up with the free trial/unactivated version, and you can later activate through license key.
What is the "Guest Additions" or "VMware Tools" configuration included in the Standard package?
Without this integration, your VM will run in a tiny window with limited resolution. Configuring Guest Additions allows the VM to display in full-screen, enables clipboard sharing (allowing you to copy/paste text between your main PC and the VM), and lets you drag and drop files back and forth.
