Method 1 (see Image 2): follows a well-known procedure that includes Gumbel type I distribution and has been used and recommended by different institutions around the world such as the Colorado State University (USA) and also in India this the method recommended by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Method 2: Generation of intensity, duration and frequency curves from daily rainfall data (24h) following the guidelines of the Gumbel type I distribution used in Method 1 along with the IMD (Indian meteorological department) Empirical reduction formula to estimate the intensities. This is a method recommended only for areas where the only information available is daily rainfall depth data from Non-recording rainfall gauges.

Method 3: it uses the Gumbel type I distribution in addition to calculating the theoretical and empirical distribution. This method includes a Smirnov-Kolmogorov goodness-of-fit test.
